red light
firefly
fly in lies
i despise
the fly that tries
to impress the tide
with it's flashy side
intensified
is the wound it hides
behind the bright
flashing light
blinding eyes
that could have use
to someone with love
a thought to prove
a lover to hug
forget the fly
because that's all it is
there is no fire
just a light
to inspire sight
lost in the fight
thinking about the skull inside my head
i lay down waiting for rest
as words form thoughts
trickling down my dry throat
slow the decent into unconsciousness
tossing around under sheets all alone,
whimpering as i look out the window.
Legs too tired to pick my body up.
Relief too tired to cradle me tonight.
I wait for the moon to lapse
and the sun to greet me unpleasantly.
